Collaboration Meeting with Prof Aitazaz Farooque (from University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Canada

       On August 31, 2023, the Henan International Joint Laboratory of Laser Technology in Agriculture Sciences(HJLASER), Zhengzhou, China held a collaborative discussion with Prof Farooque Aitazaz who is a full professor and Associate Dean at the Canadian Centre for Climate Change and Adaptation, University of Prince Edward Island (UPEI), Canada. The meeting was scheduled by Abdul and Prof. Jiandong Hu (the director of Henan International Joint Laboratory of Laser Technology in Agriculture Sciences presided over this collaboration meeting. Some of  members of Henan International Joint Laboratory of Laser Technology in Agriculture Sciences joined the meeting online.
       Prof Aitazaz started with his presentation titled: “ Precision Agriculture Technologies to Improve Food Security and Sustainability. He discusses the topic extensively and also give details about his Research group and activities.
       It is to be noted that Prof Aitazaz has a very large Research group with more than 120 publications in reputable journals with  research focuses on fundamental understanding and development of state-of-the-art climate smart agriculture technologies to improve soil health, increase farm profitability, and mitigate environmental risks for Canadian agriculture industry. 
 
       Prof Jiandong HU (Vice Dean of the College of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering) and the Leader of the Centre for Advanced Agri-Optoelectronic Research (CAAOR) Group also makes a presentation to introduce the group and university to Prof Aitazaz
       In his presentation, Prof Hu acknowledges the wide experience and expertise of Prof Aitazaz in the area of Precision Agriculture. He shows some slides on the activities of the CAAOR Group and the structure of Henan Agricultural University.
       After both presentations, deliberations were made on the further steps for the possible collaboration within both Henan Agricultural University and University of Prince Edward Island where both Prof Hu and Prof Aitazaz assure of facilitating smooth  and successful collaboration soon.
